Location: Stoke, Macclesfield, Crewe or surrounding areas.

There’s a permanent opportunity for you here as a Mobile Electrical Engineer to join one of our new aviation maintenance contracts. This role will be covering sites across the whole of the North of the UK and includes the following airports: Manchester, East Midlands, Humberside, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The Role:

  • Responsible for assisting in undertaking planned and reactive maintenance tasks and ensuring that the facilities provide a safe and secure environment that enables the client’s staff to concentrate on their business activities with minimum disruption.
  • You will be an integral part of the site maintenance team in ensuring that the Swissport facilities/properties run smoothly and are successful in supporting business activities and for providing a professional service for our client.
  • Proactively manage Health and Safety.
  • Participate in Health & Safety Codes of Safe Working and other Environmental issues to ensure total compliance with both Swissport and Dalkia Health, Safety and Environmental Policy. Report any omissions or risks that might compromise a Safe Working Environment.
  • Receive electronically PPM instructions from the Aurora system and undertake all maintenance tasks in accordance with these instructions.
  • Ensure all maintenance consumables are available and arrange replenishment of all items to ensure agreed stock levels are established.
  • Complete all electronic and paper records such that an accurate Site Logbook record of all works remains on site for the Client’s information and approval.
  • Undertake any diagnostic analysis that the whole system may require.
  • Undertake a visual condition inspection of all installed equipment and submit a written report of any items that appear to jeopardise any aspects of reliability.
  • Enter dialogue with the Client’s representative to ensure there are no outstanding issues and also to ensure the overall quality of service delivery.
  • Carry out general maintenance and good housekeeping practices and plant room cleaning to ensure that the life expectancy of all installed equipment is maximized.
  • If appropriate report on the performance of any sub-contracted works.
  • Attend to all reasonable emergency call-out requests as speedily as possible and maintain good communications with the Client with the progress of all outstanding works.
  • Make recommendations to the Technical Supervisor on matters concerning continuous improvement and “adding value” that may improve the productivity, costs, quality of service delivery etc. of all work for which the Company has a responsibility.
  • Mentor/Develop and support Apprentices which may include being shadowed continually. To pass on works experience and knowledge and to assist in apprenticeship requirements including college tasks.
  • Complete all Dalkia maintenance tasks as generated by Dalkia Helpdesk.
  • Complete as and when necessary, any breakdowns.
  • Ensure plant areas Dalkia are responsible for are always clean and tidy.
  • Respond to client’s requests promptly.
  • Maintain all site records and logbooks.
  • Look for ways to continually enhance the operation of the site.
  • Always adhere to Airport security requirements and safety policies.

Hours of Work:

8am-5pm, Monday – Friday. 1 in 5 call out paid at an additional cost.

Experience:

  • Clean Driving Licence.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Engineering.
  • 18TH Edition.
  • Basic Mechanical Knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge in A/C Systems.
  • Basic I.T skills as tablet will be supplied for Health and Safety reporting, Timesheets PPM’s, and Reactive works.
  • Role in similar position preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well without supervision.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Qualification in Health and Safety (IOSH or similar) if possible.
