We’re recruiting for a Senior HVAC Craftsperson to join the on-site team at British Steel, Scunthorpe. This is a hands-on role within a heavy industrial environment, offering long-term stability, strong earning potential, and the opportunity to work both collaboratively and independently.
You’ll initially be supported by an experienced engineer to get up to speed with site operations before moving into an autonomous role, working from a company vehicle and contributing to an on-call rota.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Carrying out HVAC maintenance and minor installation works across the site
- Diagnosing faults and ensuring systems are running efficiently and safely
- Working independently once fully onboarded
- Using a company vehicle to travel across site and manage tasks
- Participating in an on-call rota (approx. 1 in 3–4 weeks)
- Responding to out-of-hours call-outs when required
- Adhering to site safety standards and working within a “dirty” industrial environment
- Proven experience in HVAC maintenance and installation
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment
- Valid CCSNG Safety Passport (required prior to start)
- Reliability and flexibility to support the on-call rota
