Are you a hands-on leader with pressure systems experience and a passion for technical diagnostics?
We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Services Manager to join our Facilities team at Imperial College London (ICL).
This is a pivotal role within our contract management team — ideal for someone with experience of working in a regulated environment who can balance engineering insight with strong operational leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage technical operations, leading a team of one supervisor and ten technicians across multiple sites;
- Promote staff development and continuous improvement, mentoring team members and leading by example;
- Drive a culture of safety and quality, with a strong focus on completion of remedial works to maintain statutory compliance;
- Be the main point of contact for technical escalations, completing Root Cause Analysis and compiling technical reports;
- Facilitating clear and transparent communication with clients, direct delivery team and third party stakeholders;
- Manage the performance of sub-contractors including reviewing RAMS and compliance documentation;
- Ensure the efficient scheduling of planned maintenance and timely completion of reactive faults.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Skills & Experience:
- Strong technical operations background with experience of managing pressure systems;
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines;
- Confident communicator, particularly with multiple client stakeholders;
- Proficient in using CAFM systems, Microsoft Office, and mobile work platforms.
Qualifications:
- IOSH Managing Safely;
- Recognised apprenticeship or degree with mechanical engineering bias.
