About The Role
Dalkia Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our Specialist Services team in the North West. This role will support the delivery of technically complex electrical and M&E projects across a diverse customer base, taking ownership of engineering compliance, coordination, and project delivery from design through to installation and completion. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Engineering & Delivery
- Provide engineering and management support across assigned Specialist Services projects
- Plan, develop, and implement activities to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably
- Ensure full technical compliance throughout design, procurement, modelling, drawing, installation, and commissioning activities
- Review and interpret designs, drawings, and specifications, initiating revisions where required
- Carry out design checks on internal and external consultant designs
- Attend model reviews and undertake detailed drawing reviews and mark‑ups
- Monitor project deliverables and manage work sequencing in line with agreed programmes
- Procurement & Supply Chain
- Prepare technically compliant enquiries for plant, equipment, and specialist subcontract packages
- Review quotations and ensure technical compliance prior to procurement
- Compile detailed technical submittals and obtain consultant approval before procurement
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Site & Installation Oversight
- Monitor and coordinate work undertaken by junior engineers, direct labour, agency labour, and subcontractors
- Inspect installed works to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to specifications
- Review zero‑defect reports and monitor site health and safety performance
- Commercial & Reporting
- Assist in the preparation and management of project accounts and final accounts
- Support the management of variations and change control in conjunction with the commercial team
- Prepare technical and performance reports as required
- Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain high standards of customer service across all projects
- Represent Dalkia Engineering at meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Support the development and maintenance of long‑term customer relationships
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Take personal responsibility for health, safety on all assigned projects
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legislation, and industry standards
- Attend site health and safety inspections and implement any resulting actions
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Engineer or similar role within M&E / building services
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, standards, and regulations
- Experience delivering specialist, small works, or fast‑paced projects is desirable
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive, solutions‑focused approach with excellent communication skills
