Dalkia UK are looking for a full time Head of Talent to join our HR team. This will be a hybrid role with a requirement to travel to London and other Dalkia offices when required.

Job Purpose: To lead the Dalkia Facilities Talent agenda, ensuring the attraction, development and retention of the talent and skills required to deliver the business strategy. The role is responsible for Recruitment, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Succession Planning and Early Careers, whilst driving the transition towards a skills-based organisation. The Head of Talent will leverage data, technology, workforce insights and emerging AI solutions to build organisational capability, improve talent outcomes and ensure the business has the skills required for future growth.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning
    • Develop and deliver a Talent Strategy aligned to Dalkia Facilities objectives and future workforce requirements.
    • Lead the development of a skills-based organisation, ensuring talent decisions are increasingly driven by skills, capability and potential.
    • Create and maintain a skills framework and skills taxonomy across the business.
    • Partner with business leaders to identify current and future capability requirements and critical skills gaps.
    • Drive workforce planning activities to ensure talent pipelines are aligned to future business demand.
    • Develop strategies to attract, retain and develop critical talent and hard to find skills.
    • Establish succession plans for business critical and leadership roles.
  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
    • Lead the recruitment function, ensuring an efficient, effective and high-quality hiring process.
    • Develop skills-based recruitment methodologies focused on capability, potential and transferable skills.
    • Reduce reliance on recruitment agencies through effective direct sourcing strategies.
    • Optimise the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
    • Use labour market intelligence and talent data to inform recruitment strategies.
    • Ensure an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Learning, Development & Capability Building
    • Develop and implement a Learning & Development strategy aligned to business priorities and capability requirements.
    • Create development frameworks that support technical, professional and leadership capability.
    • Support the design and delivery of leadership and management development programmes.
    • Establish clear career pathways and development opportunities across Dalkia Facilities.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning and personal growth.
    • Utilise the digital learning platform and emerging technologies to improve learning accessibility and effectiveness.
  • Talent Management & Succession
    • Work with HRBPs on the annual talent review and succession planning process.
    • Develop approaches for identifying and accelerating high-potential talent.
    • Create talent pools and succession pipelines for critical roles.
    • Drive internal mobility and career development opportunities.
    • Monitor talent risks and implement retention strategies for key talent populations.
    • Ensure succession plans are regularly reviewed and maintained.
  • Talent Technology, Analytics & Innovation
    • Own the Talent technology roadmap, ensuring systems support an integrated employee lifecycle.
    • Maximise the value of talent technologies, including ATS, learning platform and talent management system.
    • Identify and implement emerging technologies, AI tools and automation solutions that enhance efficiency, insight and employee experience.
    • Establish robust Talent dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
    • Use data to identify trends, risks and opportunities across recruitment, retention, development and succession.
    • Ensure talent decisions are evidence based and supported by meaningful insights.
  • Early Careers & Future Talent
    • Manage apprenticeship, graduate and early careers programmes.
    • Build relationships with training partners and external talent networks.
    • Ensure early careers programmes contribute to long term workforce planning and capability building.
    • Develop pathways that support progression and retention of emerging talent.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead, develop and inspire the Talent team.
    • Act as Dalkia Facilities subject matter expert on Talent, Capability and Workforce Planning.
    • Build strong relationships with senior leaders to influence talent decisions.
    • Present talent insights, risks and opportunities to Executive and Operations Board.
    • Promote a culture where talent development is a core leadership responsibility.
