Role Overview
The Regional Operations Manager has day to day responsibility for overseeing the delivery of a portfolio of Energy Performance Contracts (EPC) projects.
They will have line management responsibility for a multi-disciplinary delivery team including oversight of key third party contractors, working closely with teams from across the business (QSHE, Commercial and Engineering) to ensure successful completion of the project(s).
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Operational
- Ownership of key Cost, Time and Quality deliverables on all delivery projects, within the portfolio.
Develop, operate, and maintain all relevant programme and commercial reporting internally as well as externally through the ownership of Client Project Board reporting agendas and documentation working with the Project Managers.
- Own internal reporting for all aspects of the EPC projects, ensuring key QSHE and programme risks and issues are escalated to Project Director, along with regular cash flow updates.
- Work with commercial managers to ensure project governance is adhered to, ensuring deliverables are met, and all output actions are recorded and tracked.
- Support the preparation of all clients reporting with Project Managers for Project Boards, and other client meetings as required.
- Oversight of key third party subcontractors and suppliers, to ensure key deliverables are met.
- QSHE
- Support the strategic QSHE agenda across the portfolio of projects and providing implementation leadership alongside the QSHE Manager for all QSHE reporting, and new initiatives.
- Responsible for the safe operation of all DES projects
- Implementation and ongoing development of DES, safety policies including guidance and regulations.
- Support the QSHE Manager in all investigation and site reporting process following any accident or incident on a DES site.
Own all internal and external communications in relation to reporting escalation and lessons learned activities.
- People
- Support and develop the delivery team, identifying their individual specialised training needs to support their professional development, or improve specific business outcome
- Strategic
- Support the Project Director in the oversight and management of continuous improvement activities, including the implementation of an integrated management system.
- Continually monitor the content and value add of all reporting processes/forms and review on a regular basis with the Project Director to identify opportunities to simplify or refine existing KPI’s.
- Identify long term delivery risks and work with all internal and external stakeholders to agree cost effective mitigation strategies then own the implementation.
- Business Development
- Support the strategic growth of the business, through the identification and development of expansion opportunities and new projects for the regional team.
- Support the Business Development Director and IGP team in the development of bid and early-stage development works (focus on delivery logistics, political considerations and lessons learned from other projects).

- Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience
- Over 10 years in senior project management roles on engineering design and construction projects.
- Demonstrable experience managing a portfolio of projects and working with a team of project managers in a commercial environment.
- Experience in managing client, sub-contractor and internal stakeholders.
- Sound commercial acumen, with experience of being responsible for project P&L and in-depth knowledge of Energy Performance Contracts.
- Working knowledge of the NEC and JCT forms of construction contract.
- Relevant industry experience and knowledge of the target market.
- Eligible to live and work in the UK with a valid driver’s license.
- Beneficial Experience, Qualifications & Training
- Construction or engineering degree.
- APM qualified, and active member of APM institute preferred.
- Experience in building internal processes and procedures in a growing business.
