Location: Imperial College London Campuses (South Kensington, White City & Hammersmith)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (or 07:00–16:00)
The Role
Dalkia is seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Supervisor to support our Imperial College London contract, delivering water hygiene and water treatment services across a large, complex, 24/7 academic estate. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with supervisory responsibility, with a strong focus on cooling tower compliance. You will ensure all water systems are operated and maintained in line with ACOP, while managing PPM and reactive works and maintaining audit ready documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all cooling tower operations, ensuring statutory compliance, monitoring, sampling, cleaning, disinfection, and chemical control.
- Plan and oversee water hygiene PPM and reactive works across cooling towers, domestic hot and cold water systems, and closed systems via CAFM.
- Review laboratory results, identify non-compliance or risk, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain site logbooks, records, and reports to audit-ready standards and support audits and inspections.
- Supervise operatives and apprentices, coordinate specialist contractors, and provide technical guidance.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and Dalkia QSHE requirements while maintaining strong client relationships.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of cooling towers, water hygiene, and water treatment, with in-depth understanding of ACOP L8, HSG274, and BS8580.
- Proven experience in a water hygiene or water treatment role within a commercial, academic, or healthcare environment.
- Experience supervising staff and managing specialist contractors.
- Relevant water hygiene or water treatment qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds / Legionella Control / L8 awareness); IOSH Managing Safely preferred.
- Confident communicator, organised, and able to work effectively under pressure.
