We are now looking to appoint a Electrical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of complex electrical installations across these industry‑leading buildings. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your technical and project engineering capability while working on high‑profile, technically demanding projects. Working under the direction of the Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer, you will support and coordinate technical compliance throughout the full project lifecycle — from design development and procurement through to installation, testing and commissioning. The role plays a key part in ensuring works are delivered in line with the project brief, specifications, statutory requirements and the Building Safety Act.
Key responsibilities / outcomes
- Coordinate and review electrical design information, raising RFIs and technical queries to ensure compliance.
- Support the delivery of electrical procurement packages, including technical evaluations and tracking of deliveries.
- Review electrical shop drawings, technical submittals and method statements, making recommendations for approval.
- Monitor electrical works against the programme, identifying potential delays or constraints.
- Support and monitor onsite electrical installations, checking workmanship and conformity to specifications and standards.
- Assist with electrical material take‑offs and procurement schedules.
- Support BIM coordination activities and assist with electrical clash detection and resolution.
- Support the implementation of health & safety requirements, including input into RAMS.
- Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, including inspections, test records and NCRs.
- Coordinate and support electrical testing and commissioning activities under senior supervision.
- Provide technical input to support commercial variation assessments.
About you
You will be an organised and technically curious engineer with a strong interest in delivering high‑quality electrical installations within complex buildings. You enjoy working collaboratively and are keen to learn and develop within a structured project environment.
You will bring:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and work effectively across electrical and mechanical teams.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities.
- A practical problem‑solving mindset, able to analyse issues and propose workable solutions.
- High attention to detail when reviewing drawings, specifications, installations and commissioning activities.
- A proactive attitude to learning new technologies, standards and regulations.
- Experience in M&E Building Services.
Qualifications
Essential:
- HNC / HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- CSCS card
Desirable:
- Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Experience using Navisworks and/or Revizto
