What you'll be doing;

Due expansion, we are seeking an experienced Senior Planner in the Southwest.

This role will drive the development, implementation, and management of robust project planning and scheduling frameworks across complex building services projects throughout the region.

This role is ideal for someone based in the Bristol area however we would consider all locations across the Southwest as regional travel is required

Working within a multi-disciplinary environment, you will ensure project programmes are accurate, controlled, and aligned with contractual requirements—supporting successful delivery across time, cost, and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities come under the following areas;

  • Lead integrated programmes for complex projects.
  • Apply advanced programme logic, critical path and constructability analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and project controls requirements.
  • Challenge assumptions, forecasts and delivery strategies.
  • Lead recovery planning and mitigation activities.
  • Progress, Forecasting & Performance
  • Lead project progress measurement and reporting.
  • Analyse programme variance and identify causes.
  • Produce performance metrics and management insights.
  • Maintain programme governance and data quality.
  • Delay, Claims & Commercial Alignment
  • Lead delay analysis and programme assessments.
  • Apply contractual programme obligations and requirements.
  • Maintain records supporting EOTs, variations and claims.
  • Align programme activities with commercial strategy.
  • Risk & Mitigation
  • Identify, assess and manage programme risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Evaluate impacts on critical path and project milestones.
  • Pre-Construction & Work Winning
  • Lead planning input for bids, tenders and pre-construction activities.
  • Develop delivery programmes and challenge tender assumptions.
  • Support work-winning through programme, risk and constructability expertise.
  • Senior Stakeholder Management
  • Present programmes and progress to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Coordinate inputs across project functions.
  • Influence decisions through data, evidence and sound judgement.
  • Build effective relationships while maintaining constructive challenge.
  • Project Controls & Assurance
  • Implement and assure project controls processes.
  • Lead planning assurance, audits and continuous improvement.
  • Use advanced planning and digital tools to support decision-making.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Senior Planners to be part of a new team at Dalkia in the Southwest.

Do you have solid proven experience in project planning within building services or MEP?

If so we'd love to hear from you.

You’ll need experience of managing multiple complex programmes under pressure, ideally using Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6 and have a strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.

In addition, you will be commercially aware with understanding of programme vs cost.

In addition, do you have the following?

  • Solid understanding of NEC contracts, including programme and time management
  • Experience in the preparation and review of Extension of Time (EOT) submissions and delay analysis.
  • Ability to translate complex programme data into clear insights for stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Collaborative, proactive, and results-driven approach
  • Degree/HNC/HND in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
