About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Facilities Technician to join our team in East Dunbartonshire on a part-time, permanent basis. This role is key to ensuring the safe, compliant, and effective day-to-day operation of a school environment. You’ll be responsible for routine maintenance, basic repairs, and site management activities, working independently during scheduled hours while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

  • Opening and closing the school in line with required occupancy times
  • Carrying out internal and external building checks and reporting faults (e.g. damaged tiles, leaks) to the Help Desk
  • Completing non-specialist repairs as required
  • Ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks are completed within agreed timescales
  • Managing visitor sign-in/sign-out procedures and key control
  • Ensuring site inductions are completed for contractors and visitors
  • Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements for works on site
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies
  • Supporting the safe and compliant operation of the school at all times
