Lead the Commercial Success of Major Engineering Projects
Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a role where you'll have genuine influence over high-value engineering and construction projects? We're looking for a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our regional delivery team, taking ownership of the commercial, financial and contractual management of complex projects from inception through to final account.
Working closely with Regional Commercial Managers, Project Directors, Project Managers and Design Teams, you'll play a pivotal role in protecting commercial performance, managing risk and driving successful project delivery. The Role
Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager, you'll lead the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered profitably while maintaining strong client relationships and contractual compliance. You'll be a trusted commercial advisor to project teams, providing leadership, commercial insight and strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the commercial and contractual management of allocated projects.
- Produce accurate cost reporting, forecasts and financial performance reviews.
- Prepare and negotiate client valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Lead subcontract procurement, negotiations and account management.
- Manage commercial risk, change control and contractual compliance.
- Work collaboratively with operational and design teams to identify commercial opportunities and mitigate project risks.
- Provide commercial support and guidance to Project Managers and senior stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Support continuous improvement across commercial processes and project delivery.
About You
You'll be an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background and a proven ability to manage complex construction or engineering projects. You'll have:
- A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying (BSc, MSc, HND or equivalent)
- Significant Quantity Surveying experience, ideally within M&E, MEP, building services, refurbishment or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract
- Experience managing subcontract procurement, commercial reporting, valuations, variations and final accounts
- Excellent commercial acumen with the confidence to influence project and business decisions
- The ability to build trusted relationships with clients and senior stakeholders
- Experience working on projects valued between £2m–£20m and using commercial systems such as COINS, SAP, Oracle or Navision would be advantageous.
