Dalkia Engineering is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Painting Inspector to support ongoing work at the Urenco site in Chester. This key role is responsible for ensuring that all painting and coating activities are carried out in strict compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality assurance protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surface preparation, coating systems, and inspection techniques, with a commitment to safety, precision, and continuous improvement.   • IPAF Certification for Mobile Vertical and Mobile Boom platforms

  • IRATA Rope Access Certification (Level 1) (desirable)

What you’ll be doing

  • Inspect surface preparation and painting/coating processes to verify compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and applicable codes (e.g., NACE, SSPC, ISO).
  • Conduct visual and instrumental inspections (e.g., DFT, WFT, adhesion testing) before, during, and after application.
  • Monitor environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, dew point) to ensure suitable conditions for coating applications.
  • Review and approve contractor painting procedures, material certifications, and inspection records.
  • Document and report inspection findings; issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) as required.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and compliance teams to resolve issues and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure all coating and inspection activities are carried out in accordance with safety standards and best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive inspection logs and prepare daily or weekly reports as needed.
  • Participate in pre-job meetings, final inspections, and handover documentation reviews.
