Dalkia have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Electrical Shift Technician to join their Facilities Maintenance team supporting the facilities at the Mclaren Technology Centre in Woking.
40 hours per week
Monday – Friday rotating 1 week in each shift pattern as follows
- Shared on-call rota (1 week in 9)
- Job Purpose
To complete Electrical and Mechanical PPM's, Reactive tasks and extra works or emergencies as directed by Dalkia site based management in accordance with the contract requirements.
- Aims and Objectives
- Be part of a cohesive working team which aim to provide a high level of service to the client.
- To be flexible in the covering of shifts for the Dalkia Shift Technician team due to Holiday, Training and sickness absence.
- 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with Early shift (06:00 – 14:30) Day Shift (08:00-17:00) and late shift (13:30 – 22:00).
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules and procedures, ensuring engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the Plant and associated electrical and Mechanical systems within the Clients Portfolio.
- Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.
- To maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the Electrical and Mechanical aspects of the PPM and plant.
- To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all Electrical and Mechanical related reactive maintenance issues, and help desk requests.
- To co-ordinate initial actions associated with all requests from the client.
- To co-ordinate visiting specialist Subcontractors associated with Electrical and Mechanical aspects of the PPM schedules.
- To respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the Electrical and Mechanical services aspects of the contract as required.
- Fault diagnosis associated with the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.
- Repair and maintenance of lighting and distribution systems.
- Assist other trades as necessary. To have the flexibility to work across disciplines when needed.
- To provide reports in relation to work and equipment and as required.
- To undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the Client.
- To work as part of team ensuring efficient and safe completion of tasks.
- To have at minimum a basic understanding of the site based systems and how they interact with each other.
- To carry out LSP duties in line with L8 and the Dalkia manual when required.
- The role will be based at Clients Main Campus (MTC) in Woking and some travel may be required to various Clients buildings also located in Woking and surrounding areas.
- You may also be required to travel further on occasions deemed as business critical

Person Specification
Essential
- C&G part 1 & 2 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent.
- Health and Safety Training including knowledge of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- GCSE (or ‘O' Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent.
- Experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis, rectification.
- Experience in the Electrical aspects of general building PPM schedules.
- Experienced in Electrical Installation work, plus electrical testing and inspection.
- A good understanding of Building Critical and Non Critical Systems.
- Knowledge in CAFM PPM Management System (Concept) via handheld PDA
Desirable
- C&G Electrical Inspection and Testing (or equivalent).
- 18th Edition IEE Electrical Regulations.
- BMS (Building Management System knowledge and understanding.
- A good basic Mechanical understanding.
- Understanding of COSHH and handling of substances
