Join Dalkia as a Project Operations Lead at Heysham 1 Power Station and play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across the site.

Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll take responsibility for operational planning, resource coordination, project documentation and day-to-day delivery activities. You'll work alongside internal teams, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with EDF and site requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project professional with a background in civils, construction or mechanical projects who is looking to take on a role with genuine responsibility and the opportunity to develop their career within a highly regulated environment.

You'll also act as a stand-in for the Project Manager during periods of absence, providing leadership, maintaining continuity and ensuring project activities continue to progress effectively.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and implement project plans aligned with EDF and site operational standards.
  • Lead and coordinate a diverse range of civils, construction and mechanical projects across the station.
  • Coordinate project resources, schedules, logistics and site activities to support successful delivery.
  • Work closely with internal teams, subcontractors and external contractors to ensure work is planned and delivered effectively.
  • Support the preparation and management of project documentation, including EDF Work Order Cards, risk assessments, method statements and permits.
  • Prepare and maintain CDM documentation and support compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review RAMS and undertake risk assessments, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and documentation remains current.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and environmental standards at all times.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues on site to minimise disruption and maintain project progress.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Project Manager and step into the Project Manager role when required.
  • Ensure project activities are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and in accordance with site requirements.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for a proactive and dependable project professional who is comfortable coordinating people, contractors and activities in a busy operational environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience supervising or coordinating projects within civils, construction or mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience working with contractors and subcontractors in a project or site-based environment.
  • An awareness of CDM Regulations and experience supporting compliance processes.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive, adaptable and reliable approach, with a strong work ethic.
  • The confidence to take ownership, resolve issues and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

Experience within a nuclear, energy, engineering or other highly regulated environment would be advantageous.

What We Offer

At Dalkia, we recognise that our people are at the heart of everything we do. As part of our team, you'll benefit from:

  • 24 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
  • Excellent pension scheme with generous employer contributions.
  • Flexible benefits package, including retail discounts, wellbeing support and an electric vehicle scheme (subject to approval).
  • Recognition awards and employee referral bonuses.
  • Ongoing training, upskilling and mentorship to support your professional development.
  • The opportunity to work on meaningful projects within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.

Join Our Team

At Dalkia, we’re committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and supportive working environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
