Dalkia UK are looking for a Head of Procurement to join our Facilities Business Unit. This is a national role that will need to be in a commutable distance to London, Birmingham and flexible to travel to other offices/sites when required.

The Role

  • To provide supply chain management, leadership and direction for the Dalkia Facilities business.
  • To be responsible for the supply chain strategy which ensures the business is provided best in class suppliers at competitive rates to enhance our overall service offering to our customers.
  • Emphasis on ethics, safety & quality and risk management.
  • Work openly & collaboratively with business units in respect of supply chain for new bids, re‑tenders, renewals and existing contracts covering maintenance, reactive, small works and projects service lines.
  • To deliver profit improvement through better buying, preferred supplier framework agreements, category management and through driving best in class procurement practices throughout the business.
  • To lead and deliver the Dalkia Facilities procurement strategy.
  • To continue to develop and enhance the procurement strategy for the business in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team level and jointly set procurement targets and objectives with operational teams.
  • To regularly review agreed procurement strategy to ensure it continues to meet the business needs.
  • To ensure preferred supplier list is appropriate for the business, including national coverage for all service line categories.
  • To promote the use of preferred suppliers and monitor compliance to the preferred supplier list.
  • To address areas of non‑compliance.
  • Own and maintain key preferred supplier and subcontractor relationships within the business.
  • To promote added value and innovation initiatives from the supply chain to the business units to assist in enhancing customer experience of our services.
  • Responsible for implementation of national and regional preferred supplier framework agreements.
  • Involvement in the tendering and negotiation of major sub‑contract orders.
  • To set annual supplier rebate targets and monitor accordingly, including the recovery of the same from suppliers on a prompt basis.
  • To educate the business on procurement best practice through training, attendance of business unit team meetings and awareness programmes.
  • To work closely with the business development director so that competitive advantage is obtained on key bids through sound supply chain sourcing.
  • Manage a supplier performance feedback system to ensure suppliers are consistently measured and reviewed including in respect of HSE and Environmental Audits of key subcontractors.
  • To co‑ordinate procurement activities with Dalkia Group procurement initiatives and reporting.
  • Other issues as deemed necessary by the Commercial Director or Senior Leadership Team.

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday, 8am‑5pm

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Supply Chain Procurement including Services
  • Reviewing different contract commercial models including cost plus, fixed price, GMP.
  • Understanding of supply chain contracts and frameworks
  • CIPS Qualified
  • Facilities Management or similar service outsourcing
  • Procurement/Sourcing/Buying
  • Good IT skills, particularly in the use of word, excel and powerpoint.
  • Good communication skills, written and oral, and the ability to influence and motivate to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Organisational and time management including the ability to multi-task.
  • Financial and Commercial awareness.
