Summary of Role
We are looking for an Environmental Advisor to join the Dalkia team at Hinkley Point C, supporting the Ancillary Buildings project. This role is focused on ensuring construction activities meet environmental standards, legal requirements, and site‑specific controls. You will play a key role in monitoring compliance on site, carrying out regular inspections, identifying risks, and working closely with contractors to promote best practice. You will also provide practical environmental advice, support permit management where required, and oversee the safe handling and use of hazardous materials, including COSHH management. Working in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment, you will help drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and support emergency preparedness, including participation in environmental response exercises.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor environmental compliance with EMPs, ISO14001, and UK legislation
- Carry out regular site inspections and support audits, incident investigations, and reporting
- Review RAMS and provide environmental guidance to contractors
- Support permit management and assess environmental impacts
- Oversee safe storage, handling, and use of hazardous materials (COSHH)
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting and environmental plans
- Engage with stakeholders and support environmental performance across the project
About You
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Environmental or related discipline
- Experience in large‑scale or highly regulated environments
- Strong understanding of environmental compliance and site‑based activities
- Able to build effective working relationships and influence site teams
- Eligible for required security clearance
Desirable
- ISO14001 knowledge
- COSHH, Environmental Permitting, Waste Management or Spill Response training
- IEMA membership (or working towards)
