We are looking for a confident and highly organised Night Auditor to take responsibility for our Front Office and guest experience throughout the night.
This is much more than a traditional Night Porter role.
You will be the key point of contact for our guests overnight and will take ownership of the Front Office operation while the daytime management team is away from the property.
The position combines luxury guest service with Front Office administration, reservations, financial controls, security and overnight hotel operations.
- What you'll be doing
- Welcoming late-arriving guests and assisting with early departures
- Delivering professional and personalised check-in and check-out experiences
- Taking ownership of guest enquiries, requests and concerns throughout the night
- Monitoring and responding to hotel emails
- Responding to guest messages and enquiries through Booking. com and Expedia
- Answering telephone enquiries professionally
- Reviewing reservations and ensuring booking information is accurate
- Checking advance purchase and prepaid reservations
- Processing payments and virtual credit cards where required
- Reviewing cancellations, new bookings and no-shows
- Completing overnight banking, financial checks and end-of-day procedures
- Ensuring guest accounts, charges and payments are accurately posted
- Preparing daily reports and information for the Front Office and management teams
- Preparing registration cards and departure information for the following day
- Maintaining accurate guest profiles, notes and handovers
- Completing security and fire safety checks throughout the Castle
- Monitoring CCTV and maintaining awareness of the property overnight
- Responding confidently to incidents or unexpected situations
- Preparing the Front Office operation for the following morning
- Assisting with luggage, early departures and other guest requirements where necessary
- Working closely with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Management to ensure a seamless guest journey
- What we’re looking for
Previous experience within a Night Auditor, Night Receptionist, Front Office or similar hotel role would be advantageous, although we are also interested in candidates with strong administrative, financial or customer service experience.

- Is comfortable handling payments, banking and financial information
- Is confident using computer systems and learning hotel software
- Communicates professionally both verbally and in writing
- Can confidently respond to guest emails and online messages
- Remains calm and professional when dealing with unexpected situations
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be asked
- Understands the importance of accurate communication and handovers
- Is reliable and comfortable working overnight shifts
- Has a genuine interest in hospitality and developing their career
