Location: Clayton-le-Woods, Lancashire, United Kingdom
We are looking for a Part‑Time Activity Practitioner to join our lifestyle activity team based in Clayton‑Le‑Woods. In return, we are offering a competitive hourly rate of £14.91 to £15.88 per hour, dependant on qualifications. You will be required to work 15 hours a week and will need to travel between our services in Clayton Le Woods, Chorley and Leyland plus activity centres to carry out your duties.
Dalesview has been established for over 30 years and holds an Investors in People gold award. We provide specialist supported living and residential services for adults with severe learning and physical disabilities. We are looking for a fun, enthusiastic activity practitioner to facilitate activities such as swimming, cycling, carriage riding, yoga and more. What will you be responsible for as our Activity Practitioner?
- Helping to develop and run activity sessions both large and small including sensory drama, music, art/craft, gardening, hydro, and sensory story.
- Monitoring activities and ensuring appropriate records are completed including writing detailed reviews.
- Supporting and training staff during activity sessions.
- Organising and maintaining activity equipment.
- Attending signing group and other communication meetings where required.
What makes you our ideal Activity Practitioner?
- Knowledge of and ability to understand the needs of people with severe learning disabilities, including communication needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of person‑centred approach to care.
- Knowledge and understanding of autism.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
- Good literacy and organisational skills with a flexible and creative approach.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is preferable.
- Full drivers licence is essential.
