We are looking for a highly organised and commercially aware Stock Planner / Stock Controller to take ownership of weekly stock planning, replenishment and inventory accuracy across our warehouse locations. This is a hands-on planning role suited to someone who enjoys working with data, solving stock challenges and keeping operations moving efficiently.
You will be responsible for managing stock levels across multiple warehouse sites, running the weekly requisition worksheet process in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, preparing purchase orders for approval and supporting accurate forecasting across the business. You will work closely with our sales, purchasing, warehouse and operations teams to understand customer demand, upcoming projects, seasonal trends and supplier lead times.
The right person will be proactive, analytical and comfortable making informed recommendations that improve stock availability, reduce excess holding and support smooth order fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities of the Stock Planner / Stock Controller:
- Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels across all product categories.
- Manage stock records across three warehouse locations.
- Run and manage the weekly requisition worksheet process in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Review stock requirements line by line and make informed replenishment recommendations.
- Coordinate and monitor inter-warehouse stock transfers.
- Optimise stock allocation across all warehouse sites to improve availability and reduce excess stock.
- Maintain real-time stock accuracy within the ERP system.
- Carry out regular cycle counts and support full stock audits.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies quickly and accurately.
- Work closely with warehouse teams to improve stock control processes and consistency across all facilities.
- Analyse stock movement trends and recommend improvements to inventory flow.
- Support goods-in processes and verify deliveries against purchase orders.
- Work with purchasing to identify low stock, overstocks, slow-moving items and potential supply risks.
- Monitor supplier lead times and adjust planning activity in line with changes in supply and demand.
- Raise purchase orders for factory approval in line with internal procedures.
- Produce stock and inventory reports for management.
- Support stock rotation, warehouse space optimisation and stock positioning.
- Liaise with warehouse and dispatch teams to support efficient order fulfilment.
- Maintain high standards of stock organisation and housekeeping.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in stock planning, inventory control, supply chain, purchasing or a similar role.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, and good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using an ERP system, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Understanding of stock forecasting, supplier lead times and inventory planning.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and react quickly to changing operational needs.
- Strong communication skills and confidence to work in sales, purchasing, warehouse & operations teams.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, and high attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
- Experience in manufacturing, wholesale, distribution or product-led environments.
- Experience managing stock across multiple warehouse locations.
- Understanding of warehouse operations, stock movement and replenishment processes.
- Experience supporting process improvements within stock control or supply chain.
