We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the leadership and day-to-day management of our care home in Scleddau, Fishguard. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and who is looking to further develop their leadership skills within a supportive care environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the home operates effectively, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations, while promoting the wellbeing of residents and supporting the development of staff.
Reporting & Responsibility

The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Registered Manager and take delegated responsibility for the management and operation of the home as required.
Purpose of the Position
- Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of the home's management.
- Assist in maintaining high standards of care, safety, and service delivery.
- Take temporary responsibility for the full operation of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Promote a positive culture that places residents' wellbeing, dignity, and independence at the centre of care.
- Support the effective leadership, supervision, and development of staff.
- Providing assistance with the management of the day-to-day running of the home.
- Participate in regular meetings in accordance with RISCA Regulations.
- Ensuring high standards of care are being delivered safely in line with legislation.
- Ensure all staff are working in accordance with the Codes of Professional Practice for Social Care Wales.
- Participate in weekly Duty Manager Meetings to communicate the needs and movements of residents and staff in the home.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a senior role within a residential care setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong IT skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good understanding of person-centred care practices.
- Willingness to undertake all required in-house training.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- Must hold or be working towards a Level 5 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification required for registration).
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections and quality assurance processes.
- Experience supervising and developing staff teams.
