Role Summary
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner and working closely with both the Commercial team and the wider Finance team, the Commercial Finance Business Partner will play a key role in providing commercial insight into the financial performance of the business. The successful candidate will help ensure a clear understanding of business performance and profitability, while supporting better decision-making across the Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, and success in the role will require a hands-on, detail-oriented, and flexible approach, together with strong organisational and communication skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Build relationships and liaise continuously with key Commercial, Operational, and Finance staff across the Group, ensuring that data and information are interpreted and challenged in a timely manner.
- Make recommendations regarding business improvement and profitability enhancement.
- Drive improvements in financial processes and reporting to facilitate faster and better decision-making.
- Prepare costings for both existing and new product lines.
- Work with Commercial, Operational, and Finance staff to ensure accuracy in the budgeting, forecasting, and five-year plan processes.
- Carry out any other duties or provide cover in a fully flexible manner as part of an interdependent team.
Candidate Requirements
- Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant with membership of an internationally recognised professional accounting body such as ICAI, ICAEW, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Strong commercial and business acumen; industry experience is preferred but not essential.
- Curious in nature and a problem solver, with an interest in the workings of a manufacturing business.
- A people person, able to communicate financial data and concepts to non-financial personnel in order to drive profitability.
- Good financial modelling and data analysis skills.
- Ambitious, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure and sometimes to tight deadlines and the drive and determination to make an impact in a fast-paced business environment.
