Assistant Warehouse Logistics Manager About the Role As an Assistant Warehouse & Logistics Manager, you will support the effective day-to-day running of warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of materials to meet business and customer requirements. Working closely with the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, you will help lead and develop a team of operators, drive operational performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, health & safety, and environmental performance, while contributing to audits, projects, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Support the day-to-day management of warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring the safe and efficient flow of goods across the site. Champion a positive health, safety, and environmental culture, promoting best practice and compliance at all times. Assist in driving operational performance by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise resources. Build strong relationships with third-party logistics and transport providers to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction. Help maintain high standards of inventory accuracy, stock control, and warehouse utilisation. Lead, coach, and develop a team operating within a fast-paced 24/7 environment, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), using data and insights to support operational improvements and business objectives. Collaborate with colleagues across Operations, Commercial, Finance, IT, Health & Safety, Facilities, and HR to deliver business goals. Support workforce planning activities, including shift rotas, payroll administration, and holiday management. Contribute to audits, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance warehouse and logistics performance. Essential Criteria: A minimum of 2 years experience within a warehouse, logistics, or supply chain environment, with responsibility for goods-in, stock control, logistics, and third-party transport providers. A minimum 2 years' experience managing, developing and teams across operator and line leader levels across varying shift patterns A proven track record of delivering operational improvements through the effective use of KPIs and performance metrics. A continuous improvement mindset, with a proven ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, optimise performance, and reduce costs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across multiple departments. A hands-on approach, coupled with the ability to make sound operational decisions and take ownership of challenges. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering operational excellence. Proficient in MS Office applications The ambition and drive to develop as a future leader within a critical operational function. Desired Criteria: Degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Management. Experience with inventory management and ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement practices.
