Are you passionate about helping others? Join our team as an Area Supervisor and make a meaningful difference to the lives of individuals in the community. The purpose of the role is to manage all aspects of service delivery for service users as well as employee management. You will also liaise with third party professionals such as Social Workers and District Nurses. The role will be based from our offices in the Meadowfield area of Durham although as part of the role you will be expected to cover parts of Co. Durham areas.

The salary for the role is from £26,692 - £29,321 per annum, (this includes working 1 in 4 weekends as an Auxiliary carer working a 7 hour shift both days).

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role (Essential)
  • Full UK driving license and access to your own car (Essential)
  • Must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or be currently working towards it)
  • Monday to Friday working 9am to 5pm - you will be required to work 1 in every 4 weekends (which is paid in addition to your salary at £14.50 per hour)
  • Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business

Job Description

  • Manage and carry out the initial visit process, completing all paperwork as directed by the Company.
  • Manage the service user’s medication in partnership with care workers in line with the service user’s care plan and medication level.
  • Highlight any inconsistencies or errors, changes to service user’s needs or medication errors to the appropriate medical personnel, family members and social services as required.
  • Input all initial visit paperwork onto the Dale Care system and use this to inform the Service Users Care Plan, focusing on person centred care.
  • Organise and carry out Service User’s reviews, recording and reporting any changes to their needs, issues or concerns.
  • Responsible for giving feedback regarding any issues or changes regarding Service Users care to Social Workers, family members, care staff and other professionals involved.
  • Ensure risk assessments relating to individual Service Users are updated as necessary following any hospital discharges or changes to their care.
  • Assist with the reporting and investigation of any safeguarding concerns.
  • Support in the investigation of any complaints.
  • Responsible for the shadowing of new staff and their ongoing training in partnership with the Training Department.
  • Carry out regular spot checks and observations on staff and report any concerns.
  • Provide day to day support for staff and Service Users regarding concerns and complaints ensuring these are recorded and feedback given as required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you by following company Health and Safety and other related policies at all times.
  • Assess, report and record any hazards and risks which may affect the health and safety of yourself and those around you.
  • Lead by example by promoting and encouraging staff to follow company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the anti-bribery management system requirements are applied and complied with at all times.
