Join a Growing Insurance Restoration Team Dale Building Maintenance Ltd is a well-established regional contractor with over 40 years of experience delivering insurance reinstatement, property restoration, maintenance and major works services across South Wales, the South West of England and beyond.
As part of our continued growth within our Insurance Restoration Department, we are looking to appoint an experienced
Senior Drying Technician to lead and develop our specialist drying and moisture management capabilities across our expanding client base.
- We already operate a substantial fleet of our own drying equipment, including
- Corroventa and
Dri-Eaz systems, and are investing in further growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to play a key role in shaping and expanding our drying operations whilst working alongside an experienced team of Claims Coordinators, Contracts Managers and Operational Management.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing drying projects from initial attendance through to successful completion and certification, ensuring industry best practice is followed at all times.
You will be required to attend domestic and commercial properties following escape of water, flood, fire and other insured events, undertaking moisture investigations, strip-out activities, drying equipment installation and ongoing monitoring.
This is a hands-on position that requires both technical expertise and excellent communication skills, as you will liaise with policyholders, loss adjusters, insurers and internal stakeholders throughout the drying process.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend domestic and commercial properties following insured damage incidents.
- Carry out moisture mapping and intrusive moisture investigations.
- Assess the extent of water migration and contamination.
- Develop and implement drying strategies for properties of all sizes.
- Remove damaged materials where required to facilitate drying.
• Install, position and commission drying equipment including
- Desiccant dryers
- Refrigerant dehumidifiers
- Air movers
- HEPA filtration equipment
- Heating systems
- Corroventa equipment
- Dri-Eaz equipment
- Monitor drying progress through regular site visits and moisture readings.
- Analyse psychrometric data and environmental conditions.
- Produce drying reports and recommendations.
- Adjust drying strategies where required to maximise efficiency.
- Provide technical advice to insurers, loss adjusters and clients.
- Issue final drying certificates and completion documentation.
- Ensure all works comply with BDMA best practice and relevant industry standards.
- Support the development and expansion of Dale Building Maintenance's drying division.
- Work closely with Claims Coordinators, Contracts Managers and the Operations Manager to ensure outstanding customer service and project delivery.
- Full Drying Process Experience Required
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate experience in
- Initial damage assessment.
- Moisture surveying and mapping.
- Moisture profiling and recording.
- Psychrometric analysis.
- Drying strategy development.
- Controlled strip-out and exposure works.
- Equipment selection and deployment.
- Ongoing monitoring and reporting.
- Moisture reduction verification.
- Completion testing.
- Production of drying certificates.
- Handover to reinstatement teams.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Drying Technician, Senior Drying Technician or similar restoration role.
- Experience drying both residential and commercial properties.
- Strong understanding of water damage restoration processes.
- Experience using Corroventa, Dri-Eaz or equivalent drying systems.
- Ability to analyse moisture readings and drying performance data.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
