Role Summary: The Injurious Affection Claims Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of a caseload of complex injurious affections claims from initial inquiry to resolution.
Key responsibilities:
- Assess the validity of claims by completing desktop valuations and gather all supporting evidence.
- Conduct site investigations where necessary.
- Determine the value of claims and recommend settlement offer to the client.
- Proactively engage in settlement negotiations with claimants and their representatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for claimants, representatives and the client.
- Ensure all claim processes adhere to internal processes and client policies.
- Ensure key milestones are met in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to the client.
- Lead on virtual and in person client meetings.
- Be responsible for the management and engagement of the team.
- Identify trend and risk issues arising from the workstream, implement action plans to resolve.
- Identify efficiencies to improve the commercials of the workstream.
- Be responsible for the financial management of the workstream, having a positive contribution to the business plan.
- Conduct quality reviews of claim handlers work and advising on technical queries.
Skills and experience:
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with distressed or aggrieved claimants in a professional manner.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, able to manage high volumes and competing deadlines.
- Previous experience with Injurious affection would be a benefit but not crucial for the right candidate.
