Our Graduate Surveying programme ensures our graduates achieve qualified status through either the MRICS (APC) or AssocRICS (ATC) pathways. Responsibilities

  • Working on utilities and infrastructure projects helping to manage land‑related issues during the development of infrastructure such as pipelines, power lines or roads.
  • Negotiating access agreements and assessing & handling compensation claims for landowners.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and minimising the impact of projects on agricultural land and rural properties.
  • Acting as the intermediary between our clients and landowners, overseeing effective land access and managing fair compensation.
  • Delivering land and property advice to a range of clients, enabling informed decisions.
  • Agreeing heads of terms and contractual agreements with stakeholders on behalf of clients.
  • Keeping records of land conditions and reviewing various land types.
  • Visiting sites to witness the tangible impact of infrastructure projects and monitoring progress.
  • Assessing the financial impact of infrastructure projects and agreeing compensation claims, including valuation of land, agricultural losses and general disturbance.
  • Overseeing tenancy agreements and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Managing and optimising the performance of real estate and other tangible assets.
  • Working with the wider DM team and clients to problem‑solve, advise on risks and reach solutions.
  • Delivering large‑scale schemes through innovative big data, technology and reporting functions.

Daily Activities

  • Providing expertise and advice on land and property matters.
  • Preparing heads of terms and contractual agreements.
  • Placing notices on land to inform owners of client schemes.
  • Visiting sites to observe project progress.
  • Reviewing land condition schedules.
  • Assessing compensation and valuation claims.
  • Stakeholder engagement and negotiation.
  • Data collection and technological reporting.

Qualifications

  • Hold an RICS‑accredited or relevant degree that will allow you to sit the APC or ATC to become MRICS or AssocRICS qualified.
  • Possess a full UK driving licence and your own means of transport.
  • Exhibit proactivity, problem‑solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
