As a senior partner in driving the company’s headcount growth, you will lead end‑to‑end recruitment activity for your business areas, ensuring we attract, engage, and hire exceptional talent. You will own the full recruitment lifecycle from sourcing and talent attraction through to interview management and onboarding, working closely with senior stakeholders to understand their resourcing needs and challenges. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will provide data‑driven insights, market intelligence, and strategic guidance to support informed, commercially sound hiring decisions.
You will play a key role in shaping and optimising our recruitment approach, leveraging best‑in‑class tools and routes to market to build sustainable talent pipelines. You will also contribute to continuous improvement across the function, delivering a best‑in‑class experience for both hiring managers and candidates, while championing the Dalcour Maclaren employer brand.
Key Activities:- Own and lead the ‘end to end’ recruiting cycle for your business area/s inclusive of candidate sourcing, attraction, screening and onboarding, ensuring all roles are recruited within desired timescales.
- Act as a senior partner to Hiring Managers in your business area/s, providing strategic advice and guidance based on market intelligence, data insights and business priorities.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines by becoming a specialist in the talent landscape associated with your business area, leveraging deep networks to attract and engage with high‑quality candidates.
- Optimise the utilisation of best-in-class recruitment advertising and sourcing tools/software, proactively identifying new and innovative approaches to candidate engagement.
- Act as the primary contact for recruitment for your business area/s, ensuring hiring managers follow best practice, processes and compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives and sharing best practice across the team.
- Ensure consistency across advertising and wider social media activity, aligned to the Dalcour Maclaren Employer Brand and positioning us as an employer of choice.
- Manage relationships with recruitment agencies and third‑party suppliers, setting clear expectations, monitoring performance and escalating issues where required.
- Undertake competitor market research and use external insights to inform role profiling, skills availability, geographical challenges and salary benchmarking.
- Analyse recruitment data, campaign performance and hiring trends to provide actionable insights that inform future decision making.
- Contribute to wider workforce planning activity in partnership with the Head of Talent and business leaders.
- Support and, where appropriate, lead on People Team projects, contributing to strategic initiatives and outputs.
- Act as a role model within the function, supporting and mentoring others where appropriate, sharing knowledge and driving capability uplift.
- Participate in and support internal company groups and initiatives, and represent Dalcour Maclaren externally at events and conferences, acting as an ambassador for the company.
- Always maintain confidentiality, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, contractual and organisational requirements and policies.
- Minimum 7+ years' experience in a Talent Acquisition Partner or similar recruitment role with proven utilities and infrastructure industry experience (or adjacent industries).
- Proven experience in managing complex, end-to-end recruitment campaigns across multiple disciplines and seniority levels.
- Strong track record of recruiting into ‘hard to hire’ and senior level positions within specialist or technical areas.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor, influencing and challenging stakeholders at a senior level.
- Deep expertise in sourcing strategies and candidate engagement across multiple channels and platforms.
- Experience leveraging data, insights and market intelligence to shape hiring strategies and drive decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to coach, influence and challenge stakeholders constructively.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex requirements independently.
- Proactive, resilient and adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience supporting or mentoring others, contributing to team development and capability building.
- Confident operating in a highly visible, people-facing role, acting as a brand ambassador for Dalcour Maclaren.
- Strong understanding of compliance, confidentiality and best practice in recruitment.
