As a Future Talent Lead, you will:

  • Be responsible for the design and execution of the Future Talent Strategy for DM, leveraging best practice to enable DM to attract and retain the best future talent.
  • Manage external partnerships with schools, colleges, universities and training providers to ensure DM continues to develop strong strategic relationships which maximise our ability to deliver a consistently strong Future Talent pipeline.
  • Act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for all Future Talent streams, confidently able to advise the business on matters such as safeguarding, the apprenticeship levy, scholarships/bursaries and Student/Graduate VISAs.
  • Ensure the Future Talent Programmes deliver business requirements aligned to critical skill requirements and workforce planning, in conjunction with the business sectors & services 5-year plans.
  • Review Future Talent programmes against external benchmarks and market data in collaboration with the DM Academy.
  • Keep abreast of wider industry activity within the Future Talent space, ensuring compliance with any related rules, regulations and/or legislation.
  • Ensure DM’s presence at external events with affiliations to Future Talent and capitalise on opportunities to enhance DM’s profile in the Future Talent space via memberships and/or awards.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team on maximising such opportunities for Employer Brand.
  • Oversee the Future Talent budget, tracking and demonstrating an effective return on investment in all relevant areas.
  • Lead on EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) commitments from a Future Talent perspective, in line with the wider business EDI strategy.
  • Contribute to the overall Talent Acquisition Pillar goals, in addition to wider People Team projects.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Future Talent and/or Early Careers Manager is essential.
  • Strong knowledge around Future Talent best practice and/or legislation.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into actionable strategic goals and deliverables.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Appetite to keep abreast of current trends in the future talent/early careers space.
  • Ability to manage a budget and report on effective ROI (return on investment) of initiatives.
  • Be highly organised and have a proactive approach to day-to-day tasks.
  • Have great IT skills and be confident with Microsoft products.
  • Be a great team player and have a can-do attitude.
  • Be a keen problem solver with a holistic, strategic approach to decision making.
  • People/Line Management experience is desirable, but not essential.
