As a Contracts Engineer with a leading UK manufacturer of bespoke Air Handling Units, you’ll take ownership of AHU projects from concept through to commissioning — ensuring every unit delivered meets the highest standards of performance, safety and customer satisfaction. This is a role for someone who thrives on technical challenge, cross-functional collaboration and seeing a project through from the first sketch to the final sign-off.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Project execution — Oversee end-to-end delivery of AHU projects including design, procurement, manufacturing, QA, installation and commissioning.
- Design development — Produce detailed technical designs for the drawing office to convert into GA drawings.
- Technical selections — Use supplier software to carry out accurate component selections.
- Internal coordination — Work closely with drawing office, production, stores, QA, accounts, logistics and site/service teams.
- External liaison — Communicate with consultants, clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation — Prepare drawings, data sheets, O&M manuals and certification packages.
- Procurement & budgeting — Source components, monitor budgets and ensure supplier compliance.
- Supplier drawing approval — Approve coil and electric heater drawings prior to manufacture.
- Quality assurance — Conduct goods-in inspections, in-process checks and final QA sign-off.
- Regulatory compliance — Ensure adherence to industry standards, guidelines and local regulations.
- Continuous improvement — Support initiatives to enhance product design and delivery.
- Customer coordination — Arrange deliveries, site activities and factory testing attendance.
- Certification — Produce CE/UKCA and test certificates for final product handover.
