Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing, and administering of occupational therapy modalities in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Helps patients to improve basic motor functions and reasoning abilities but also to compensate for permanent loss of function. Assists in evaluating department performance and conducts performance improvement activities.
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of occupational therapy modalities
- Help patients improve decision making, memory, and coordination
- Observe and evaluate response to treatment and recommend changes to provider, if needed
- Formulate teaching plan based on identified learning needs, include caregivers as appropriate
- Recommend changes in patients' work or living environment, consistent with their needs and capabilities
- Current ND Occupational Therapy License
- Current BLS certification or willing to take course within 6 months of hire
