Dakota Hotels are seeking a commercially driven and relationship-focused sales professional to join our team in the role of
Sales Manager .
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hotel sales professional with a passion for hospitality, business development, and creating lasting client relationships.
You will play a key role in driving revenue across accommodation, meetings and events, corporate business, and food and beverage, whilst representing the Dakota brand within the local and national market.
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, growing existing accounts, and maximising revenue through proactive sales activity.
Your ability to build meaningful relationships, think strategically, and convert opportunities into results will make you a key contributor to Dakota Manchester's continued success.
- PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the Regional Head of Sales, the responsibilities of the role include:
- Drive total hotel revenue through the acquisition, retention, and development of corporate, group, meetings and events, and leisure business.
- Develop and implement a proactive sales strategy aligned with the hotel's commercial objectives.
- Identify and secure new local, regional and national business opportunities through networking, prospecting and relationship building.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring regular contact, client visits and exceptional account management.
- Conduct hotel show rounds, client meetings, familiarisation visits and networking events to showcase the Dakota brand.
- Collaborate closely with Revenue, Reservations and Operations teams to maximise conversion and revenue opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and local business developments to identify opportunities and maintain Dakota's competitive position.
- Prepare and deliver commercial reports, sales forecasts and business pipeline updates.
- Represent Dakota Manchester at industry events, exhibitions, networking functions and local business forums.
- Support the growth of meetings, events, private dining and corporate accommodation revenue streams.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity through Dakota's CRM systems.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
The successful applicant will have/be
- A minimum of three years' experience within hotel sales, business development, revenue, or account management.
- Experience working within a four or five-star hotel environment.
- Demonstrable success in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong knowledge of the Manchester hospitality and corporate market.
- Excellent networking, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness with a proactive and strategic approach to sales.
- The ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- A confident, professional and engaging communication style.
- An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.
