Dakota Hotel based in Newcastle are seeking a reliable and proactive individual who enjoys working alone to join our Front of House Team in the role of Night Porter.
We are a brand-new, stylish hotel, ideally situated on the Quayside, our hotel boasts 118 bedrooms including 33 suites. Dakota Newcastle hosts our renowned Bar & Grill, Champagne Room, Cigar Terrace, and an events space for up to 60.
CONTRACT AND PAY RATE
The pay rate is national minimum wage, paid hourly and on a weekly basis plus cash and card tips // Earnings are £10.40 per hour, paid weekly equating to a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £24,300. // The gross annual salary is £X plus an annual incentive bonus to earn up to £X.
Earnings are £13.30 per hour, paid weekly, equating to a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £11,065 (inclusive of the anticipated tronc payment).
The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 16 hours per week and typical shifts will be Friday and Saturday evenings. The shift will typically start at 10:30pm and finish at 7am.
Primary Role Responsibilities
- To set up our meetings and events spaces for conferences and private dinners, carrying out detailing to provide guests with an immaculately clean and welcoming space in accordance with their specific needs.
- Carry out deep cleaning tasks such as vacuum cleaning, dusting and polishing, mopping. To thoroughly deep clean the public areas of the hotel.
- Work closely alongside all other departments especially Reception to ensure excellent communication and be proactive in assisting other departments as required. This may include delivering room service, taking items to guest bedrooms, and answering the hotel phone.
- Be assigned the role of Fire Warden in the event of an emergency evacuation as well as being trained as a fire evacuation chair user to assist our guests.
- Follow health and safety procedures closely at all times particularly pertaining to the handling of waste and manual handling.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of safe chemical handling guidelines and best practice relating to the immaculate upkeep of back of house and public areas.
