Night Duty Manager
Dakota Hotel Newcastle is offering an exciting vacancy for the role of Night Duty Manager. This role carries the responsibility of overseeing the nights team and ensuring the smooth running of the entire hotel during night time hours and the implementation of night time procedures, as well as ensuring the safety of our guests.
CONTRACT AND PAY RATE
Gross annual salary £28,000 plus an annual incentive of £4,875 in anticipated Tronc earnings.
Permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week, shift pattern 4 nights on, 3 nights off, variable nights week on week, includes working weekends.
PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting directly to the Senior Night Manager, provide leadership of the nights team, including one‑on‑one training to new team members and ongoing performance management.
- Responsible for carrying out reception duties checking guests in and out, supporting the Bar where required, ensuring correct running of the Night Audit, banking and completion of the Nights Cleaning Checklist.
- Prepare and deliver the Night Room Service menu upon order.
- Knowledge of alcohol licensing and ensuring legislation laws are adhered to, keeping premises and guests safe and deescalating security matters.
- Oversee the smooth running of the entire hotel during night time hours and implementation of night time procedures.
- Manage the Reception Desk, property walks and oversee tasks by Nights Porters.

APPPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 1 year experience as Duty Manager/Fire Warden running nights shift, supervisor level or above.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a hotel environment.
- Computer literate; experience with property management system such as Opera or Shiji; full training provided.
- Great communicator and genuine people person.
- Enthusiastic individual promoting culture of positivity.
- Task oriented with pride for work and attention to detail.
- Flexible with shift patterns and available to meet business needs.
