Dakota Hotel, based in Newcastle, is seeking a dedicated individual for a Kitchen Porter role. We are a stylish, new hotel located on the Quayside, featuring 118 bedrooms including 33 suites, along with our renowned Bar & Grill, Champagne Room, Cigar Terrace, and an event space for up to 60 guests.
Contract and Pay Rate
The pay rate is the national minimum wage, paid hourly and weekly, plus tips. Earnings are approximately £10.40 per hour, with a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £24,300, including tips. Alternatively, earnings can be around £12.51 per hour, with a guaranteed gross annual salary of £6,505 including anticipated tips. The role offers a permanent contract of at least 10 hours per week, mainly working weekends, with shifts any 2 days out of 7.
Primary Role Responsibilities
- Wash all pots, pans, crockery, glassware, and cutlery throughout the day.
- Store and organize all clean items, ensuring the kitchen staff have necessary equipment.
- Perform daily clean-down of the Employee Break Room and deep clean of the Kitchen twice daily.
- Keep Back of House areas clear of obstructions and maintain cleanliness in bin store areas.
- Follow waste disposal and recycling procedures, maintaining the waste storage area.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures, especially regarding waste handling and manual handling.
- Handle chemicals safely and uphold cleanliness standards in food prep areas.
