Join to apply for the Evening Turndown & Public Area Cleaner role at Dakota Hotels in Newcastle. We are seeking a reliable and hard-working individual to join our Housekeeping Team as an Evening Public Areas Cleaner. The role offers a permanent contract with shifts primarily in the evening, with occasional morning shifts available.

Contract and pay: Earnings are Β£12.50 per hour, paid weekly. The role carries a permanent contract with typical hours of 18-24 per week. Shifts will mostly be in the evening from 2:30pm to 9pm, with the opportunity to work as Morning Public Areas Cleaner from 8am to 2:30pm. This role includes weekend work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly deep clean public areas of the hotel, including elevators and staircases, meeting and events spaces, reception, bar, restaurant, and public toilets. Clean and maintain back-of-house areas such as team changing rooms, toilets, and the break room.
  • Carry out general cleaning tasks such as wiping and sanitising surfaces, vacuuming, dusting and polishing, and mopping.
  • As relief cover, carry out the tasks of a Room Attendant/Housekeeper when required. This includes thoroughly deep cleaning guest bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, making beds, and ensuring rooms are immaculately clean and welcoming.
  • Carry out general deep cleaning and cyclical tasks within bedrooms and public areas, such as steaming curtains, carpet cleaning, and washing duvets/pillows, etc.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including waste handling, manual handling, and safe chemical handling guidelines.

About Dakota Hotels

Dakota Hotels are coming to Newcastle city centre in early 2025. Ideally situated by the Gateshead Millennium Bridge on the Quayside, our new hotel will feature 118 bedrooms including 33 suites, and will host a Bar & Grill, Champagne Room, Cigar Terrace, and an events space for up to 60.
