Dakota Hotel in Newcastle is seeking a people person to welcome guests, valet park their cars, assist with bag portering, and provide general Front of House support as a Valet Porter. This is a fixed term contract concluding on 4 January 2026. The role carries a minimum of 16 hours per week across predominantly 2 shifts on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Contract and pay rate
£13 per hour, paid weekly, with a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £10,816.
Primary Role Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness of our vehicles, including washing and valeting the car.
- Valet parking for guests; requires a clean full UK driver’s license and at least 5 years of driving experience.
- Welcome guests upon arrival, provide bag portering, and keep the lobby pristine; clear tables, take coffee/drinks orders, and perform light cleaning tasks.
- Provide consistently excellent guest service in line with our service principles and values, ensuring guests receive special attention.
- Work with Reception and other departments to ensure smooth operations; may include delivering room service, taking laundry, and answering hotel phones.
- Offer additional services to enhance the guest experience (e.g., restaurant reservations, directions, local recommendations).
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure clear communication and proactive assistance as required.
