We are seeking a skilled trades-person and qualified electrician with strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of health and safety for the role of Maintenance Manager.
Contract and Pay Rate
The role carries a permanent contract of 42.5 hours per week, usually shifts will be varied, working any 5 days out of 7 including working weekends. It comes with a competitive salary and a target-based bonus, with a planned start date of 1st April 2026.
Primary Role Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the running and management of the maintenance department, leading team members through positive reinforcement and providing continual on-the-job training.
- Complete and maintain all required compliance and facilities-based paperwork with strong understanding of the documentation required to run a maintenance department.
- Fulfil managerial tasks including writing the departmental rota, managing holidays, carrying out appraisals, and stock management.
- Carry out a broad range of maintenance tasks in accordance with your skillset and participate in maintenance activities such as installing, maintaining, decorating, light plumbing, tiling, light joinery, PAT testing, grouting and silicone work.
- Action schedules to ensure the fabric of the building is both aesthetically well-maintained, as well as wholly compliant with all areas of legislation, completing necessary checks and records.
- Ensure that all tasks, requests, and project work is carried out to high finishing standards and in a timely manner, meeting agreed timescales on project work.
- Ensure that the planned maintenance schedules and project schedules are kept up to date.
- Work closely with all departments especially Housekeeping to maintain company standards within guest bedrooms and public areas. Carrying out planned preventative maintenance as well as reactive maintenance of the building and its grounds.

Applicant Requirements
- Be a forward-thinking individual with at least three years’ experience in a maintenance management or assistant management role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Qualifications in health and safety, with a strong working knowledge of statutory compliance relevant to hotels. Full training will be provided where required.
- Experience in an accommodation-based commercial environment such as hotels, serviced apartments, or high-volume residential operations.
- Fully computer literate and confident using maintenance, compliance, and asset management systems such as iAuditor by SafetyCulture and Alert65, or equivalent.
- Be qualified in a recognised trade relevant to hotel maintenance.
- A minimum of three years’ hands-on experience as an electrician and holding a valid City & Guilds 17th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certificate.
- Keen attention to detail with consistently high standards of workmanship and presentation appropriate to a guest-facing environment.
- Proficient in carrying out and overseeing a wide range of general maintenance tasks, with a broad technical understanding of hotel plant, equipment, and fabric.
