Dakota Hotel based in NEWCASTLE CITY CENTRE are seeking outgoing individuals to join our Food and Beverage team this festive season – this is a great role for someone with alternative commitments and seeking their first job.
Ideally situated by the Gateshead Millennium Bridge on the quayside, our hotel will boast 118 bedrooms including stunning 33 suites. Dakota Newcastle will host our renowned Bar & Grill, Champagne Room, Cigar Terrace, and an events space for up to 60.
CONTRACT AND PAY RATE
The role carries is a zero-hour, fixed-term contract (17th Nov 2025 – 2nd Jan 2026)
Pay rate is national minimum wage plus tronc payments which are at least £1.00 per hour
Typical shifts will start at 5pm including working weeks
You must be available to work Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve
PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out the role of a waiter/waitress in our Bar and Grill, providing table service, taking guest orders and running large trays of delicious food to guest tables.
- Provide the highest levels of guest service, offering personalised dish and beverage recommendations, and delivering a memorable dining experience.
- Work closely with the Bar and Kitchen team to ensure the effective flow of communication.
- To have a comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage menu options to enhance the guest experience.

The successful applicant will have/be:
- Waiting experience is beneficial but not required. Be an outgoing personality with effective communication skills.
- Ability to work at pace and be physically active for the duration of your shift.
- Willing and able to pour, serve and sell alcohol.
- Be able to be physically active in your role, standing for much of your shift and working at pace.
- An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.
- Be task oriented with a great pride for the work they do and attention to detail.
- Flexible with shift patterns and available around the needs of our business.
- Successful candidates must demonstrate having researched our brand and a genuine desire to be part of our team.
