PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out Reception duties including welcoming guests, checking in and out, handling ad-hoc requests, making reservations, light housekeeping tasks, and managing guest billing.
  • Act as the main point of contact for VIP guests, ensuring personalised service and attention during their stay.
  • Handle complex guest complaints and escalations, ensuring prompt resolution and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Front Office computer systems.
  • Work collaboratively with other department managers to ensure clear communication and alignment on hotel operations.
  • Offer additional services to enhance the guest experience, such as making restaurant reservations and assisting with directions.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Reception team, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standard and in line with company values.
  • Manage Reception time recording, rota creation, and holiday planning to ensure optimal staffing levels and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Take ownership of training and development initiatives for all Reception team members, ensuring consistent onboarding, progress tracking, and coaching.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of two years working experience in a hospitality setting, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • A strong administrator with the ability to prioritise and work at pace.
  • Experience in 4* and 5* hotels is strongly preferred.
  • Great communicator and a genuine people person.
  • Hands-on approach to all aspects of the role, available to work flexible shifts and present during peak times.
  • Fully computer literate; knowledge of a property management system is desirable, but full training will be given.
  • An enthusiastic individual who promotes a culture of positivity.
  • Task-oriented with great pride in work and attention to detail.
  • Flexible with shift patterns and available around the needs of the business.
