Join our Performance & Reward team and help deliver competitive, well-governed remuneration across an investment banking environment—balancing commercial outcomes with regulatory expectations and strong controls. This role involves handling high volumes of sensitive personal data and requires a strong understanding of GDPR, confidentiality, and robust data controls.
What you'll do:
- Own delivery of the annual compensation review and year-end processes for relevant populations (including timelines, guidance, modelling support, reporting and communications).
- Coordinate bonus and incentive processes (including in-year and year-end awards), ensuring accuracy, documentation and adherence to governance and controls.
- Support incentive plan activity and annual salary budget planning, partnering closely with Finance to monitor accruals and deliver clear, decision-ready MI.
- Manage deferred compensation arrangements (e.g., deferred cash and phantom equity-style awards), coordinating deferral schedules, documentation, leavers and vesting events with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support promotion and performance cycles, ensuring reward outcomes align to policy, budget and governance expectations.
- Lead annual benchmarking activity (job matching, market data submission and analysis) to inform pay positioning and decision-making.
- Maintain and embed reward and remuneration policies, ensuring they are practical for the business and aligned to applicable regulatory requirements and internal governance.
- Support risk-taker identification activity (e.g., MRT/identified staff), including identification, communications, training and ongoing controls.
- Prepare remuneration reporting and disclosures (e.g., IFPR remuneration disclosures and Remuneration Policy Statement content), ensuring outputs are accurate, consistent and governance-ready.
- Support delivery of regulatory and policy change in partnership with HR, Compliance, Risk and the business.
- Monitor relevant remuneration-related regulatory developments and engage with external advisors/industry forums to keep practices current.
- Provide audit and risk support for reward activity, maintaining strong documentation, controls and an end-to-end audit trail.
- Oversee MI production for senior stakeholders and governance forums (e.g., ExCo/Board/RemCo) as required.
- Produce bespoke analysis and reporting for HR leadership, front office management and control functions to support decisions and governance.
- Support reward systems and tooling (business requirements, testing/UAT, process controls and issue resolution) to ensure accurate end-user outcomes.
- Partner with Global Mobility on internationally mobile populations, including reward inputs and governance considerations.
- Contribute to benefits and wellbeing programmes in partnership with Payroll and Benefits colleagues.
What we're looking for:
- Proven reward/compensation experience, ideally within investment banking or wider financial services.
- Strong analytical capability and data discipline—able to work with complex datasets and produce accurate, well-controlled MI.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivots, lookups, robust modelling); strong PowerPoint/Word skills are a plus.
- Comfortable managing multiple workstreams and tight deadlines, especially through year-end compensation cycles.
- Proactive self-starter who takes ownership, challenges constructively and continuously improves processes and controls.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to drive process change, system enhancements and stakeholder alignment.
- Confident communicator with experience working with senior stakeholders, able to translate analysis into clear, practical recommendations.
- Strong risk and control mindset—able to design, document and operate effective controls and governance across reward processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience.
