The role involves providing documentation and transaction support to our Fixed Income business (both in London and Tokyo) in respect to debt issuance transactions such as syndicated debt issues and the Equity Capital Markets business (working with ECM front office based in London and Tokyo).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advising, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and coordinating legal and transactional documentation.
- Liaising with and advising Front office in London and at other Daiwa offices globally.
- Coordinating with the Operations/Settlement teams to ensure a smooth settlement and Compliance and Credit Risk when appropriate regarding ad hoc queries.
- Negotiating with issuers, external lawyers, fiscal principal paying agents/trustees, TM counterparties at other banks, auditors and stock exchanges.
- Investigating and solving transaction queries.

- Equity Capital markets
- Share offerings (both global and Japanese domestic)
- IPOs
- Follow-on offerings
- Japanese REIT (JREIT) Offerings
- Convertible Bond Issues
- Debt Capital markets
- MTN, ECP, Warrant and Certificate and any other relevant programme updates where DCME acts as dealer or arranger
- Syndicated and private placements for third party issuers
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in DCM/ECM/MTN business areas
- FS in-house experience preferred
- Team management experience
Qualifications: Junior Solicitor experienced Snr Paralegal
