Our client, a PE backed distribution business, requires a hands-on Finance Director to join their team to lead the Finance department. Working closely alongside the CEO, the role will focus on leading the Reporting and Commercial side of the finance department as well as being involved in other commercial areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of annual financial statements, corporation tax and company secretarial.
- Building excellent relationships with suppliers, auditors, bankers and tax advisors.
- Oversee our annual audit and statutory account filing.
- Running a stock management and reordering system.
- Forecasting and annual budget preparation, reviews with all functions.
- Leader of ongoing risk management process, mitigation projects and reporting to the Board.
- Advising on new product development projects, financially and commercially.
- Ensuring strong financial controls are in place and adhered to.
- Ensuring efficient banking facilities for the company.
- Ensuring all required insurances are in place and handling the annual renewal process.
- Implementing cost control mentality to ensure value-driven decisions.
- Run Payroll.
- Liaising with the HR Advisers and develop HR Policies.
- Work with existing members of the finance team and develop their skills and career development.
Experience:
- Have an accountancy qualification – ACA/CIMA/ACCA.
- Ability to use information wisely, to analyse, tell a story and generate actions.
- Strategic thinker who is analytical and comfortable in the detail.
- Experience of Stock Management.
- Ability to deliver accurate, reliable high-quality outputs, in a timely manner.
- Demonstrable successful experience with setting up and maintaining cost control processes.
- Demonstrable successful experience with producing Board pack.
- Excellent IT skills particularly in Excel.
