Finance Manager responsible for management and reporting of revenue, margins, and financial analysis to support strategic decision‑making, leading a team of part‑qualified management accountants.
Location: Nelson
Contract: 12‑month fixed term (possible transition to permanent)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £60,000 (DOE)
Responsibilities
- Consolidation and review of mid‑month and month‑end reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across key products and channels.
- Balance sheet management ensuring key control accounts are reconciled monthly.
- Management of monthly revenue‑assurance reconciliations for key products, liaising with the business and suppliers to resolve queries.
- Working closely with the Chief Finance Officer to identify and monitor key risks and opportunities.
- Implement and enhance operational and financial processes and controls, ensuring accuracy and efficiencies in monthly reporting.
- Support financial analysis, KPI reporting, budgeting and margin enhancement projects.
- Preparation of deliverables for the year‑end audit, ensuring records are correct and complete.
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals ensuring effective development.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Advanced MS Excel skills; knowledge of Microsoft Access and data‑warehouse functionality advantageous.
- Proficiency with relevant financial software (Sage).
- Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively with finance and non‑finance colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail, including awareness of contracts and legal documentation.
- Good follow‑up skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines with accuracy.
- High energy level with creative problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
