Nestled in Kenwyn’s prestigious conservation area, Daisy Fays Truro offers a prime location in Cornwall’s capital city. Housed in a spacious Victorian building surrounded by its large gardens and mini woodland, the setting provides a tranquil yet inspiring environment. Truro is renowned for its iconic Cathedral, Saturday markets and the Enterprise Fal River Cruise. Conveniently close to the A30 and with rail access to Redruth, St Austell and Falmouth, the nursery is easily accessible for staff commuting from across the county. Your Role: What will you be doing?
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor your team to deliver outstanding early education and care for our pre‑school children
- Design and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate learning activities that inspire curiosity and foster individual development
- Make accurate and effective assessments to understand each child’s unique needs, supporting growth and celebrating milestones
- Create an inclusive, stimulating environment, indoors and outdoors, where exploration and creativity thrive
- Develop strong, trust‑based partnerships with parents, carers and professionals to support the holistic needs of every child
- Promote and ensure child welfare, safeguarding and health and safety
- Collaborate with your team to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment for children, staff and families
Requirements: What are we looking for?
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) or a full and relevant Level 6 Early Years qualification
- We will also consider applicants holding a minimum Level 3 qualification who are willing to progress in their professional development
- Previous experience in an early years setting, with a proven track record of supporting children’s growth and leading a team
- A deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and its practical implementation
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted standards, safeguarding, child protection, early years legislation and health and safety
- Exceptional communication skills to build trusting, collaborative relationships with children, families and colleagues
- A passion for creating engaging, fun learning experiences that spark a lifelong love of learning in every child
- An adaptable and proactive approach to leadership, inspiring and motivating others to achieve excellence
All roles are subject to an Enhanced DBS and Paediatric First Aid certification. All personnel will also be required to subscribe to the DBS Update service once the DBS has been applied for.
