Post Title: Assistant Manager
Reporting To: Retail Business Development Manager
Location: Daisy Chain Megastore, Team Valley Retail Park
Salary: Depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours, 5 out of 7 days on rota basis
Job brief: To support the Megastore Management Team in ensuring the Megastore operates in a smooth and efficient manner to maximise sales and income potential. You will assist the Megastore Managers in motivating and leading a team of staff and volunteers to deliver our retail aims. The post holder will set and maintain high standards of customer service at all times to provide an enjoyable customer experience and encourage return customers. The post holder must be proactive driven and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You will be a key holder carrying out daily admin duties which include till reconciliation and banking procedures as well as deputising for the Store Retail Brand manager as required. Key Tasks
- Support Store Operations: Assist in overseeing all aspects of daily store operations including the management replenishment and merchandising of stock on the shop floor overseeing till operations including accurate recording of Gift Aid supporting bookings for collections and deliveries and other stock management tasks.
- Support the store manager in motivating, supporting and training the team to perform to their greatest potential.
- Ensure all staff and volunteers provide high quality customer service when dealing with customers and donors.
- Support Admin duties: With effective internal and external communications including emails staff and volunteer paperwork, till based admin eg; cash handling float management, till reconciliation daily and weekly store banking.
- Support and embed gift aid growth across donations and sales.
- Oversee till operations inclusive of gift aid accurate sales and stock management checks.
- Act as cover for Store Manager during absence e.g. annual leave, sickness and rota days off.
- Work with the manager to operate the collections and deliveries system by liaising with customers, staff, volunteers, store managers and van drivers.
- Support the processing of donations with the store team and achieve a high volume of stock availability.
- Ensure the store has adequate levels of disposables across the store.
- Maintain excellent levels of communication with the team.
Additional responsibilities:
- IT work required by the store; comply with the Charity's Health and Safety policy in all employment practices; maintain the integrity of the Daisy Chain brand in all internal and external communications; maintain a proactive approach to your role and responsibilities along with a commitment to contribute and maintain the positive working ethos within the Charity; maintain working knowledge of the policies and regulations governing the Charity; assure attendance at staff meetings.
- Undertake any training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post; work in a way that contributes to the continuous improvement of the Charity's services and embraces the organisations quality initiatives; any other duties from time to time commensurate with the level of the post.
