We are seeking a QC Technician to complete all hygiene and GMP checks on site and report any non-conformances to ensure a strong food safety conformance and culture on site.
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, 5am to 3pm, 40 hours (4 x 10 hour shift)
The duties of the role are:
- Quality Management System
- Production-focused quality role prioritising the testing of products
- Identify areas of non-compliance against the company Food Safety and Quality Management System
- Ensure all production paperwork is completed as specified by FSQMS.
- Ensure the HACCP system is being followed throughout the site
- Conduct Good Manufacturing Practice, Glass and Plastic, Hygiene, and Finished Product Audits in line with schedules
- Log all non-conformances raised on site relating to audits/product incidents/spot checks
- Food Safety & Legality
- Collect product samples/environmental swabs/samples for testing as scheduled
- Log samples onto the relevant laboratory system for testing and prepare boxes for collection by the lab
- Review all results on the system to ensure conformity and take action for out of spec result, with the relevant department
- Escalate any food safety risks to the QA or Technical Manager
- Complete calibration/validation/verification of critical site equipment in line with schedule
- Ensure records of calibration are completed clearly and in full and are accessible to all for audit
- Isolate suspect raw material on site and escalate as required
- Record any on-hold and release of raw materials in Oracle
- Customer & Supplier Interface
- Support site visits as and when required
- Ensure information available for Technical team as required
- Ensure information on KPIs is updated and available on Notice boards.
- Personal Management
- Contribute to the site Quality culture
- Complete training as required by Technical training matrix
- Monitor personal performance in line with KPIs and objectives. Ensure Personal Development Reviews and Plans are completed

- Experience of food industry essential & Dairy/cheese advantageous
- Knowledge and experience of food safety, quality issues and auditing within a food manufacturing environment
- A team player who supports others to ensure work deadlines achieved & flexible to adapt well to changing work demands
- Confident and articulate communicator
- Generates ideas and seeks opportunities to improve
- Well organised and able to co-ordinate a number of simultaneous tasks
- Excellent PC skills
