Engineering support is vital to ensure production downtime is minimized, machine performance is continually enhanced, and improved efficiencies are achieved on the line. DFI Leeds is a manufacturing facility with complex plant and equipment requiring dedicated engineering support to prevent and troubleshoot machine issues as they arise.

Experience required:

  • Fault finding and writing PLC code in Mitsubishi and Siemens TIA/S7
  • Mitsubishi communication experience, CC-Link, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, Remote I/O set up and configuration
  • Hardware installation and software diagnostics
  • SCADA experience, integration and modification (CITECT SCADA by Schneider)
  • HMI programming, using IX Developer or E-Designer, E1100 HMIs, Beijer Automation
  • Proficient in Inverter drives, Mitsubishi, Danfoss, installing, commissioning and fault finding

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Qualifications as a minimum, NVQ Level 3 equivalent
  • HNC in a related field preferred but not a deal breaker

Experience:

  • Ideally an operational background (70/30 office based/hands on support)
  • In a proven role similar for 5 years minimum

Duties of the role:

  • Electrical & Mechanical preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Ensure that equipment is fit for purpose on a daily basis and attend breakdowns as necessary
  • Document and monitor all line downtime and breakdowns
  • Ensure a robust shift handover, report issues to be prioritised
  • Ensure critical issues are raised to minimise disruption to operational performance

Who are we looking for?

  • Electrically biased Multi Skilled, Controls and Automation Engineer
  • Significant post apprenticeship experience
  • Engineering qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical maintenance
  • Manufacturing industry experience, ideally FMCG, Packaging or Food
  • Extensive skills in relation to Electrical Systems, Electrical Control, Fault finding and Mechanical Engineering
  • Experienced in PLCs, programming, integration and installation
