Communications Executive in City of London

Dairy UK is looking for a motivated and proactive communications professional to join our small, friendly team. The Communications Executive will play an important role within Dairy UK, supporting the Communications Manager to deliver high-quality communications across a varied portfolio of strategic work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in PR or communications who is looking to develop their skills in a busy and varied role at the heart of one of the UK’s most important food sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Communications Manager and Chief Executive in all aspects related to media, public, industry and other external enquiries.
• Supporting key members of the Dairy UK team.
• Working as part of the team to deliver our social and digital strategies.
• Assisting with website and social media updating where required.
• Helping to create and deliver promotional materials for Dairy UK run and attended events – both online and physical.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues within Dairy UK to provide communications advice and practical support.
• Supporting the Communications Manager in member, industry and stakeholder communications related to Dairy UK, its schemes and wider industry initiatives.

Experience:

Essential requirements:

• 2-5 years’ experience within a PR/communications related field.
• Degree educated or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to write clearly and accurately for different audiences and channels.
• A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of tasks.
• The ability to understand and communicate complex subjects.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The flexibility to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.
• The right to live and work in the UK.

Desirable:

• Experience in the food and drink, FMCG or agricultural sectors.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in public relations, communications, marketing or a related discipline.
• Experience using design tools such as Adobe InDesign or Canva.
• Experience of digital PR tools (such as press databases, website content management systems and email platforms such as Mailchimp).
