The Role: We are seeking a dedicated Disposition Technician to join our Quality team at Kendal Nutricare. In this key role, you will be responsible for the routine dispositioning of products across all stages of internal and external production. You will monitor and respond to customer and vendor complaints, conduct detailed investigations, and drive continuous quality improvement through the implementation of effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). This position plays a vital role in ensuring that all products released to market meet the highest regulatory, safety, and quality standards—in full compliance with company procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and all applicable infant formula and food legislation. This is a full time role based at our headquarters in Kendal. You will be required to work a rotating 2 week shift pattern. Lates: 13:15-21:15 Monday to Thursday and 13:15-18:45 Friday. Earlies: 06:00-13:30 Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Product Quality & Release: Review and approve batch records, in-process checks, and laboratory results for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods. Perform dispositioning of materials and products, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and regulatory requirements. Liaise with Production, Laboratories, and Supply Chain to ensure timely release of products. Maintain accurate and traceable documentation for all batch dispositions. Comply with safety and hygiene procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practices, wearing the required protective clothing and use of safety equipment appropriate to the role.
- Customer and Vendor Complaints: Receive, log, investigate, and respond to all customer and vendor complaints within agreed timelines. Perform root cause analyses, coordinate testing or sampling when necessary, and document findings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prevent recurrence and improve supplier quality performance. Track and trend complaints to identify recurring issues or emerging risks.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all activities comply with GMP, GFSI, BRCGS & Regulatory (UK/EU/US/CA) standards. Assist with internal, supplier, and regulatory audits, providing documentation and evidence as required. Contribute to the review and update of Quality Management System (QMS) documents, including SOPs, forms, and work instructions. Support training of staff in quality standards, procedures, and hygiene practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Laboratories, R&D, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues. Liaise with external manufacturers and suppliers to maintain consistent quality expectations. Communicate quality performance, trends, and improvement actions to management and stakeholders.
What you’ll need:
- Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
