You’ll be responsible for delivering an accurate, timely and comprehensive payroll service to our varied portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately process payrolls of varying complexity in line with client deadlines and statutory requirements.
- Perform manual calculations for gross-to-net payslips, including complex tax codes, high tax bandings, and retrospective adjustments.
- Independently manage a portfolio of complex payrolls, proactively plan workload, and provide compliance guidance to clients.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients throughout the payroll cycle.
- Keep up to date with Auto-Enrolment (AE) legislation, statutory absence rules, and HMRC requirements.
- Apply GDPR principles and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Share knowledge and provide guidance to junior team members.
- Mentor and coach team members, contribute to process improvements, and act as a role model for Dains Values.
- Manage workload effectively and seek support when needed.
- Essential: Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) desirable.
- Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Desirable: Level 3 Payroll Qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., Paycircle) and integrations.
- For Senior level: Proven ability to manage complex payrolls and mentor team members.
